Jenny Balfour Paul, writer, artist/dyer, traveller, curator and international lecturer, is author of âIndigo in the Arab Worldâ (Routledge), âIndigo: Egyptian Mummies to Blue Jeansâ (British Museum Press) and âDeeper than Indigo: tracing Thomas Machell, forgotten explorerâ (Medina Publications) as well as many other publications.Â
She was consultant curator for the Whitworth Art galleryâs 2007 UK touring exhibition âIndigo, a Blue to Dye Forâ and consultant for two documentary films on Indigo.Â
Jenny is an Honorary Research Fellow at Exeter University; Fellow and past Trustee of the Royal Geographical Society; Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society and New Yorkâs Explorers Club; immediate past President of the UKâs Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers and a partner in âSilk Road Connectâ, an educational initiative launched by cellist Yo Yo Maâs Silk Road Project in New York in 2009.Â
